Caring for the looks, health, and performance of your feet
Helping Aucklanders from all walks of life get back on their feet again by treating foot, ankle, and lower limb issues.
Your feet are in the best hands
Foot Institute (formerly Waitakere Foot) helps your feet look, feel, and perform at their best. We have four Auckland clinics, and can visit you at home, in your rest home, or at hospital if you’re unable to come into the clinic because of injury, disability, or mobility challenges.
Busy schedule? Feel free to book a late night or Saturday appointment.
Thinking, caring and learning about feet. Always.
What began as Waitakere Foot in 2009, a sole clinic with Kiseon Hong as the only podiatrist, has now grown to become Foot Institute – a hub of podiatry care, with four purpose-built clinics and Auckland’s largest podiatry team.
Our ten highly qualified podiatrists are trained to provide evidence-based care to assess, diagnose, and treat a comprehensive range of foot and lower limb conditions, ranging from skin and nail problems to musculoskeletal injuries and chronic health issues like diabetic foot.
What drives us is our strong focus on educating our patients, podiatrists, and other health professionals about optimal foot care based on the latest technologies and scientific research.
Our podiatrists are proud to bring their clinical excellence to your community. They are supported by our fantastic admin and front-desk staff who help us deliver the consistent and compassionate service that makes us a popular choice Auckland-wide.
Professional and friendly podiatry care for your whole family
Many conditions can lead to heel pain. Some more common than others. Using specialised treatment, including shockwave therapy, we have the technology and knowledge to assess, diagnose and treat your heel pain effectively.
Ingrown toenails are painful and common, and often come with a worry surgery is required. The good news is that if your ingrown toenail is mild and caught early, it can likely be treated without surgery.
Sometimes we need some extra support to get us performing and moving at our best. That’s where off-the-shelf or custom orthotics can help.
We treat, manage and help prevent skin and nail conditions including corns, callouses, cracked heels and verrucae.
We’re passionate about getting you back to the sports you love. Years of treating a wide range of common sports injuries such as ankle sprains, knee pain, shin splints and Achilles tendinitis means we’ve seen it before and know how to help you.
No matter your age, stage, or range of mobility, we’ll take care of your feet in the comfort of your own home or retirement village, or we can visit you at hospital.
We’re one of the few clinics in Auckland that provide specialised procedures such as PACT Fungal Light therapy to kill bacteria, viruses, and fungi on both your skin and nail surface. We also offer Verruca Needling to remove stubborn verrucae.
Education and research are at the heart of all we do
Our clinical director Kiseon is teaching the next generation of podiatrists at AUT and our podiatrists often pursue postgraduate studies. We’re always upskilling to better serve your feet.
We want you to feel informed and not alone. That’s why we’ve carefully put together this blog for you to read before and in-between appointments.
It’s full of common questions and conditions, so you can learn more about taking care of your feet.
