Waitakere Foot began in 2009 with Kiseon Hong as the sole podiatrist of a single clinic in Te Atatu. Kiseon has now grown Waitakere Foot from its humble beginnings to the buzzing and highly-regarded podiatry hub it is today. Very enthusiastic about delivering quality podiatry care, Kiseon is extremely popular with patients, who travel from all over Auckland to see him. Bringing over 15 years of experience, Kiseon is often complimented for his gentle and well-mannered care.
Graduating from AUT University in 2006, Kiseon emphasises the importance of continuing education and professional development to ensure patients get the best foot care possible. Since graduating, Kiseon has completed a postgraduate diploma in Sport and Exercise Medicine from Otago University in 2011. He takes great pride in giving back to Podiatry as a profession, through clinical education for podiatry students.
Kiseon teaches at AUT University as a clinical educator and is an elected Board member of Podiatry NZ.
He has a special interest in surgery, orthotic therapy, exercise prescription and sports injuries. Kiseon is fluent in Korean.
Outside of his busy work schedule, Kiseon enjoys time with his wife and three children.
Kiseon is currently not taking on new patients.
Kirsty Wannan

Kirsty graduated from AUT University in 2013 and has been working at Waitakere Foot since. Over the years, she has gained valuable experience in all clinical aspects of podiatry, establishing a loyal following in the community. Kirsty is our Senior Podiatrist in New Lynn and has a special interest in biomechanical analysis and musculoskeletal injuries. She is also a specialist in the PACT Med light treatment for fungal nails, a specialist treatment only available at our New Lynn Branch. She is very popular among our patients.
Kirsty’s love for sports, whether it be competing or supporting, has played a key role in furthering her knowledge in sports podiatry. A member of Piha Lifesaving Club, Kirsty is also a competitive surf lifesaver and one of New Zealand’s top-ranked open water swimmers.
Paula McGahan

Paula graduated from AUT University in 2015. Before joining the Waitakere Foot team in 2018, she worked as a podiatrist in Christchurch and Waikato. Paula takes great pride in creating individually tailored treatment plans to care for each patient needs. She has a keen eye for biomechanical analysis and sports podiatry, placing importance in understanding and exploring the different ways our bodies move, and completed a post graduate diploma in Sport and Exercise Medicine (Otago University).
Born and bred on her family beef farm in the Northern district, Paula enjoys hunting, fishing and being on the farm. She’s also a keen squash player and enjoys spending time with her partner and family.

Ashley joined the Waitakere Foot team in 2019 after working in the Bay of Plenty. Graduating from AUT University in 2016, her passion for Podiatry came after she discovered how important the biomechanics of the foot and lower limb are in preventing secondary flow on issues in the rest of the body. This, along with her passion for sports, sparked her specialisation in Sports Podiatry and Biomechanics. She brings a wealth of knowledge in treating diabetic foot and is often complimented on her friendliness, as she enjoys taking the time to get to know her patients.
A keen sportswoman, Ashley plays rugby, league, and touch. This passion for sports has played a significant part in furthering her knowledge in Sports Podiatry.
Alexandra Goodchild

Following a career change, Alexandra decided to branch into an area she’s very passionate about – healthcare. She chose podiatry as a focus as it combined many topics that were of interest, and it’s allowed her to expand her knowledge in diabetic foot and aged care podiatry – which she now specialises in.
Alexandra joined the Waitakere Foot team in 2020 after graduating from AUT University in 2019. Alex is our main rest home podiatrist, and you will sometimes see her in our Waitakere Foot Henderson branch.
Alexandra was born in Auckland but spent a lot of her childhood in England and Australia. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially her two daughters. Outside work, she enjoys travelling, scuba diving and reading.
Angelika Zemke-Mudaliar

Angelika, known by her patients as Ange, graduated from AUT in 2020 and joined the Waitakere Foot team shortly after finishing her studies. She has always had an interest in medicine, but it was while visiting a podiatrist as a patient while rehabbing her netball injuries, when she knew podiatry was the specialisation for her.
Ange’s interests are in musculoskeletal podiatry and the high-risk foot, which fits in nicely with the two clinics she’s based at: New Lynn and Ōtāhuhu. Ange enjoys getting to know her general care patients as well as using orthotic therapy for patients with any biomechanical issues.
In Ōtāhuhu, Ange looks after diabetic patients, educating them on diabetes and working alongside nurses and doctors to create patient and whānau-centred management plans for long-term conditions.
Ange’s family migrated to New Zealand in 2003 from Fiji and she is fluent in Hindi. If you speak Hindi and find it easier to communicate this way, she is happy to look after you! Ange is a big foodie and will always be trying food from different cafes and restaurants. She also enjoys going to weekend markets, spending time with her friends and family and collecting houseplants.
Christel Masagca

Christel completed her podiatry degree at AUT in 2021. Christel has always been interested in sports and has done competitive running which gave her an early insight and understanding on the functional aspects of the lower limb. While enjoying all aspects of podiatry during her studies, she developed a particular interest in diabetic care. She loves seeing the positive impact of podiatry in patients, helping them achieve a greater quality of life. Christel is of Filipino descent and speaks Tagalog fluently. Outside of work, she enjoys an active lifestyle playing volleyball socially and going to the gym.
Emma Collins

Emma joined the Waitakere Foot team in early February 2021 in the role of part-time receptionist at our Te Atatu Clinic. She is the friendly voice on the end of the phone and is often complimented on her polite and helpful nature.
Currently studying psychology at AUT, Emma is hoping to specialise in sports psychology. She became interested in healthcare as she naturally has the desire help people in need and is passionate about improving people’s health in any way she can.
Emma plays many sports like AFL, football, and touch. She also enjoys going fishing with her family and spending time with her friends and family.
Tamara Jordan

Tamara joined the Waitakere Foot team in 2022. Originally from Hamilton, Tamara moved to West Auckland in 2013. With a background in hospitality, management and sales, she has a passion for helping people and is our wonderful receptionist behind the desk in our Henderson Clinic.
She has two wonderful children she spends most her time with at home or enjoying playgrounds, swimming, karate, and soccer and all that is involved in having two energetic boys. Tamara has strong family values and enjoys being with her family and friends.
Keira Schriefer

Keira joined the Waitakere Foot team in October 2022 and is a part-time receptionist at our Te Atatu Branch. She enjoys meeting and speaking with all the friendly people of the Waitakere Foot community.
Born in Illinois, USA, Keira’s family moved to West Auckland in 2013. She is currently studying occupational therapy at AUT University. In her spare time Keira is an eager football player, earning herself Te Atatu AFC Youth Player of the Year 2022. She loves spending time with her family and friends.
